Frustratingly, her lower body hungered for more. How selfish, she felt, wanting to ask more of her frayed sibling, getting a taste of care and wanting to consume all of the one that would give it. Their soft hand caressing her body, their arm cradling her while the other cared for her. Was it truly unnatural? She’d seen the mortal bugs crave eternity, lonely bugs crave companionship, hungry bugs crave food, wouldn’t a tortured bug crave tender love? Wouldn’t a hollow cocoon crave to be filled, with the proof her life could mean something, could carry something greater than her?

The bug– Shakra, she had learned her name was– was a mapmaker of a warrior clan, searching for her mentor among this kingdom’s haunted vaults. After purchasing map supplies from the tall bug, she left. Shakra’s goodbye addressed her as Child Wielding Needle, Following after the naming convention she herself bore, as Shakra Wielding Rings.
As she wandered on, she wondered. Normally to be mistaken for a youth would not bother her in the slightest. Why did it feel so… strange, to be called as such now? Not the time, she decided. She would wait to ruminate on this strange fact until a later time. Her senses needed to be sharp, if she wanted to remain whole on the trail ahead.=OR=
Hornet learns to accept strange new feelings she's never before known in the face of the promised safety of Shakra Wielding Rings.
