  Summary

  Jon takes too long to agree to the Beholding's offer after the unknowing and the Beholding moves on to a new archivist. but not all the fears are as impatient as the eye, and Jon has belonged to the mother long before the eye ever took him in, and she is not nearly as careless with her toys.
