Summary
Ilya Rozanov gets traded from Boston to Ottawa out of the blue and not a soul knows why. On his first visit to the Centaurs arena, he meets the team equipment manager, Shane — a quiet and illusive man that captures Ilya’s interest immediately.
Shane Hollander has loved hockey since before he could walk. Unfortunately, the one thing he cared more about was living life as his authentic self. He gave up what would have been a promising career in the PWHL—the only chance in this lifetime at professional hockey—to transition. Once the initial sting had worn off, Shane took up equipment managing to keep as close to the game as he could, silently hoping that someday the NHL would be a safe space for people like him. In a fortuitous turn of events, both Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander are traded to the New York's Admirals. Cue Scott having to handle their shared chaos and his own repressed desires. The more boundaries he draws, the more he ends up crossing, to the point of questioning his own morals, as well as his sanity. As it turns out, he might be the man he suspected all along. The same cannot be said for Shane and Ilya.

Summary
Heartbreak and hockey don't mix.
Boston's Ilya Rozanov decides to do what he'd been putting off for years. He calls off his affair with Shane Hollander, Montreal extraordinaire, right before a Montreal vs Boston game. He gets a hockey puck shot right into his hamstring for it. Right in the middle of the game. Honestly, he never guessed Hollander had it in him to be vindictive.
As for Shane...it works. He didn’t want to see Rozanov anymore. In this game. In this season. And now Ilya’s out. Ball and chained to healing and recovery, pain meds and physical therapy for the next year. Maybe when Rozanov comes back, Shane will be able to stomach breathing the same air as him again.
And Rozanov will be back. That much is guaranteed. Shane just fails to measure how back Ilya Rozanov will be. If he thought Rozanov was a nightmare on the ice before his injury, he’s got a reckoning coming.
