Summary
Obi-Wan knows Anakin is special. He wouldn’t have been tasked with training the boy by his Master’s dying breath otherwise. He knows, but he doesn’t know.
His Padawan is alleged to be the Chosen One, much as Obi-Wan never cared for the lofty title. He looks at Anakin and sees a boy; it’s a struggle to see beyond that most days.
Anakin becomes a man. He strides away from Obi-Wan, braid cut—headlong into battle and troops flanked by his side. Obi-Wan watches him go, expecting to see just that: a man.
A vermilion star stares back.

The word bounces around in his head, from one corner to another, making him feel dizzy. Mommy mommy mommy, it echoes, until it loses all meaning, even though for him, it never had any to begin with. But he knows how Anakin feels, at least he hopes he does. And now that they're here, they may as well go further. If it's too far, so be it. He will deal with it for both of them.

Hey, I know that you said I had to be sure about what I was asking, and I'd like to say that I am, but really, it was just something that popped into my head, so maybe I am not all that sure? Absolutely not.
For starters, it would be a lie. Anakin can admit to himself that he thought about Obi-Wan doing something like this to him for a long time now. He can't pinpoint the exact moment it started, but he knows what he wants: Obi-Wan's spit, in his mouth, from more than just kissing.
