“You are both hockey freaks.” Elena won’t admit it outloud, but she knows she probably is too. I mean, with Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander as her fathers, how could she not be?

Elena Hollander-Rozanov is a hockey freak. So are her grandparents and her little brother Dmitri. With Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander as her fathers, how could she not be? She knows that aside from herself, her brother, and each other, hockey is what her fathers love most.
So how will she tell them that she’s been indefinitely suspended from her college hockey team without breaking their hearts?
Helping out at the Irina Foundation hockey camps, feuding with her best friend, supporting her little brother, and flirting with Ottawa's most promising rookies are welcome distractions from the mess she walked away from. Summary
Shane is technically moving on.
Objectively, he’s doing great. He has a stable relationship with James, an emotionally healthy businessman who texts him good morning every day, folds laundry correctly, and somehow makes stability feel both comforting and slightly alarming.
The problem is that Shane has unfortunately never loved anything normally in his entire life, and definitely not Ilya, his ex-boyfriend, former secret, and current ongoing psychological condition.
Shane and Ilya broke up after the Boxing Day fight and have both theoretically moved on. Now Ilya has Alice and Shane has James.
Unfortunately, they are still completely in love with each other and handling that with the emotional maturity of two men who communicate primarily through hockey and prolonged eye contact.

"I don't mean to come here and freak you out," Scott said, though he knew there was no avoiding it. He'd been where they were before. It had felt like he was dying, back then. "I just don't want you to think you're the only ones, okay? There's lots of us."
Their eyes snapped to him in unison, startled and intense. Hollander croaked, "What?"
"There's over sixteen hundred guys in the MLH and AHL," he reminded them, because it had felt improbable to him when he first heard until he remembered the sheer size of the hockey world. "There's — well, we don't know how many of us there are, but there's at least seventeen of us that know each other. Plus you two. We watch out for each other."
His eyes enormous, Hollander asked, "There's, what? A secret underground gay hockey network?"
Scott shrugged. "Yeah, basically."

Ilya and Shane find their way into The Tennis Club, a network of closeted hockey players that hook up - so long as everyone keeps it casual. Which is no problem! They can do casual, right?

Summary
The look on Shane’s face, even blurry and partially obscured by smoke, confirms everything Ilya had been thinking. He can hear an awful, keening sound, and realises with a shock that it’s coming from him. And fuck, it only serves to make Shane’s face crumple even more.
I have never been in a plane crash. A singular plane malfunction, in anyone’s lifetime, even someone who flies as much as him, is an anomaly. Two? Two fucking crashes? Those odds aren’t even worth calculating. Almost impossible.
He can hear Sveta’s voice in his head, Russian, sweet and warm like the honey tea her mother used to make for him: You don’t need to tempt fate, Ilyusha, she already has such horrid plans for you.
Or: The Centaurs’ plane crashes. Again. Shane has to decide what’s worse— Almost dying, or actually surviving.

Summary
