Summary
The story follows psyker Venria von Valancius on her journey of coming to terms with her past and present - from a life of fear and sorrow to suddenly being named a Rogue Trader and new head of the von Valancius dynasty, while dealing with all the problems and threats she seemed to have inherited from her predecessor.

I also add artwork directly to the end of the corresponding chapters.-> While this story follows the events of the game and stays mostly close to canon, it unfolds often only between the game's quests. Expect a lot of Heinrix/Venria interaction as this is a dialog-heavy story with a focus on Venria and her developing relationship with Heinrix van Calox.

Summary
In this story, we follow a young Heinrix, imprisoned on a black ship, on a day that continued to haunt him decades later.
Trigger warning: there is violence, but not very graphic. But it is a black ship and not a place any human should be, much less a child.
Excerpt:
Whimpering noises reached him in his sleep, and still dizzy, he instinctively reached out, softly touching the body beside him.“It's fine… go back to sleep, Elsbeth”, he whispered, with words faintly blurred by sleep and sluggish tongue; letting his youngest sister know he was there, that it was just another nightmare, and nothing bad could happen to her with him at her side. Usually, that was all it took for her to sink back into slumber again.
But the harsh response - his hand suddenly yanked away and an unexpected voice barking at him - pulled him out of his half-asleep state.
“Don't touch me!”
Immediately, he recoiled, pulling back his hand, and with drowsy eyes, he stared into the dirty, angry face at his side - almost hidden beneath greasy strands of fair hair and barely visible in the dim light. The facial features of an adolescent a few years older than him, not yet a man, but also no longer a child.

Summary
Follow Heinrix van Calox on his way to a special meeting with his adored Lord Captain, Beulah von Valancius. Little does he know about the distractions that are waiting for him...
He leaned forward, closer to Beulah, not taking his eyes from her.
“May I?” he asked softly as he hovered with his gloved hand over her wrist.
“This is a promising start. I'd like to see where it leads. You may.”
After gently closing his fingers around it, he slowly raised her arm and a black regicide piece appeared, dangling in a dent in her wide, transparent sleeve. Looking away from his discovery back to Beulah, he flashed her a slight grin.
“It seems the Ecclesiarchy wanted to have a word with you”.
“Oh, you know, they are always where they don't belong.” Beulah leaned forward too, reducing the distance between them so much that he could feel her breath on his face and felt immediately drawn to her dilated pupils and the narrow band of blue around them. For several moments, they gazed deeply into each other's eyes, until the fluttering in his chest distracted him enough to break the contact between them. “But please go ahead - this is what you were looking for, isn't it?”
