Summary
Ilya Rozanov has been drafted by Boston, the number one pick overall, but his father doesn't want him moving to America and so takes steps to block his visa. He's going to have to go back to Russia and stay there forever and that, thinks Shane Hollander, is wrong.
It's so wrong that Shane can't stop himself from doing something about it. Even though that something is the most reckless, the only reckless thing he's ever done in his life. He marries Rozanov in secret, to keep him out of Russia and put him on a path to Canadian citizenship.
Shane's got a five-year plan to get him there and when you have a plan nothing can go wrong. Right? Right. When you have a solid plan and a marriage that's on paper only there's no risk of feelings getting involved. Not on Rozanov's part and certainly not on Shane's.
Right???

Summary
Wyatt lightly punches him in the shoulder, and Ilya opens one eye to see Wyatt holding out his phone towards Ilya’s face.
Ilya’s eyes grow wide, a sick feeling settling in his stomach.
The match barely ended two hours ago, and already, there’s an article questioning if Shane had tripped on purpose. If Shane had tripped to let Ilya win.
Ilya’s initial reaction is that of extreme insult. As if he needed Shane Hollander to let him win.
But then…fuck. Shane.
Ilya stands up suddenly and crawls over Wyatt (and steps on his feet none too gently in the process). He strides as fast as he can to the front of the bus towards Coach Wiebe.
He leans down and murmurs to his coach, and gets a look of complete understanding.
“As soon as we get to the airport, go,” Wiebe says. “We’ll see you in the morning.”

Or after Shane trips during that fateful game, Ilya refuses to let him face the aftermath alone.

Summary
They then ask Shane to move his fingers and lift his arms. He does both no problem and the medics tell him good job. The medic takes off Shane’s skates. They ask him to wiggle his toes.
Nothing happens.
A play on a line from Heated Rivalry following Shane's injury “Oh god what if I’m not ok? What if I never walk again." A story of loss, growth, and love.
(Disclaimer: This is my first fic, I'm not a doctor, I don't speak Russian, and I don't know anything about hockey. Don't think too hard.)
