“He keeps asking me for details about the sex we had.”
“Like you and me?” Rose asks doing a little finger dance between them as she does.
Shane nods.
“Is he jealous?”
“Maybe, but like he knows it was bad and wants to know why it was so bad and all that,” Shane explains. “He won’t really say why he’s asking all these questions about it. I’m not even sure he knows.”
Rose gets a contemplative look. “Is he like floating the idea of a threesome?”OR

Summary
“Weddings are supposed to be too much,” Yuna counters when Shane gets frustrated with her over her needling. His mother has made it clear that while many things about weddings may be too much, his guest list for his own wedding is “not nearly enough.”
Maybe if the world were different—if hockey were different—he would be inviting his former teammates to his wedding. But it’s not and he’s not and he doesn’t like the implication his mother is making—that he should invite someone he hasn’t seen or wanted to see for the past 12 years to his wedding.

The reporter had taken his words in the complete opposite way than Ilya had meant them, but he supposed he was too committed to stop now. “Of course not.”
“Of course.” The reporter parroted, laughing nervously.
“Obviously, we are already in a relationship.”

In Ilya’s rookie season, he impulsively jokes about dating Shane to an invasive reporter. Then, he just… keeps doing it, since publicly announcing it enough times that everyone writes it off as a joke is a great way to hide a clandestine relationship.

Pointy’s mom works in Human Resources, and he’s pretty sure this is a case of workplace bullying. Hazy thinks Ilya has a crush and can’t take a hint. Bood just wants his team to get back to normal.
Or, in an AU where Hollanov never gets outed, 5 times a Centaur tries to shut down Ilya’s flirting and 1 time a Centaur lets it happen.

Yuna Hollander knows her son is different, but she winds up being slightly off the mark about how, and comes to regret that very much.
OR:
Yuna tries to help set Shane up with friends of friends’ daughters. He brushes her off. Or if she pushes, then he’ll go on exactly three dates before it peters out. I’m too busy, he says. You can make time, she encourages, and she means it. He can prioritize his happiness at this point, surely? She has all the compromises he could make with training and promo on the tip of her tongue if he only gives her the go-ahead.
Instead he shrugs and points out that he’s got to keep focus or he might lose to Rozanov in the scoring race (fucking Rozanov!), and that’s the end of it
It’s one more difference. One more thing she can’t help but worry about. David makes her so happy. Who will do that for Shane?

Except Shane accidentally, drunkenly, outs himself to the Montreal Metros at the end of the season. Who are not as okay with it as Shane would have hoped.
AKA the most eventful Canada Day that the MLH has ever seen.

Summary
The Swiss National League doesn’t care about the legendary Hollander-Rozanov rivalry. When the MLH can’t negotiate with the Hockey Players’ Union in time to prevent a hockey lockout at the start of the 2015 season, the Zürich Lions jump at the chance to sign both Shane and Ilya to short-term contracts. For four months in Switzerland, they share a team, a line, a house, and a bed.
Then the lockout ends in January, and it’s time to go back. Back to different countries, cities, lives. Beds.
Reentry is harder than expected.
