To find a decent thrall in a burning nautiloid was somewhat... troublesome, but the Emperor was not one to give up. Not even when the only option left was, objectively, a disaster.
Infected with an alien larva that will overwrite her body, Talula — a wizard whose spellcasting has grown rusty — has only days, a kleptomaniacal companion, and her analytical mind to find a cure. A shame that each of her well-considered decisions breeds a worse emergency.

But a tempting deal with an unexpected key player, The Emperor, lures Tav only into a much deeper web of secrets. The destiny of Baldur’s Gate will be decided in the cunning battle of wits, where the pendulum of power stays never stagnant.
Heavily focused on events pre-main story where Drow-Tav(2nd POV reader/not self-insert) finds herself caught in a deal of double-espionage with the Emperor that leads her down the path of his past. Tav will not just unravel mysteries and secrets that creep through the shadows of Baldur’s Gate, but also unveil The Emperor’s true identity as they revisit treacherous waters of his past once more.

Summary

Ascended Astarion and Tav are having their first major relationship crisis and they are not handling it well.
Starts as a shameless smut (mainly chapters 1-5, 7,10,...) with a bit of plot for flavour, then it gets a bit more centred about their "too toxic to handle" dynamic.

Very smut heavy, little plot.Astarion’s lips curled into a tender smile, revealing his sharp fangs that had once been symbols of fear but now represented a love that defied the odds. He pulled her closer, wrapping his arms around her, and they embraced in a timeless moment of passion and devotion. Their immortal hearts beat as one, and together, they would face the endless night with a love that would burn brighter than any star in the night sky.
