Akutagawa coughed, barreling ahead as if he'd not even heard Atsushi speak. "Last night. Why did you do that?"
It was so matter-of-fact, exactly what Atsushi ought to have expected from his partner. Exactly what he should have expected, but he was still unprepared to answer. He didn't know what to say, torn between the honest answer and the simple answer. Deciding between, I wanted you and the tiger wanted you was impossible. Both were equally bad in their transparency and derangement. He simply couldn't say it.
