The bar Zhongli chose was upscale, warmly lit and pleasant. Nothing like the grungy dive bars Childe frequented on his own. They got a booth in a secluded corner near the back, intimate enough to take Childe’s breath away. Zhongli’s long, elegant fingers twirled the stem of his wineglass, the gold wedding band glinting in the low light.
Childe had known the professor was married, had spotted that gold ring the very first time he’d gone to office hours. It didn’t matter, not really. Zhongli would be unattainable even if he was single. He was a fantasy, safer from a distance.
