"Mmm.... Huh? Sure, yeah—sorry. I don't mind." She reaches up to pat the back of his flesh hand, where it's sitting indecently high on her ribcage.
Bucky has to bite his lip just to hold back a groan. Something about her being pliable and unaware of how she's getting sized up is making him outrageously hard. "Nothin' to be sorry about, doll. I like watchin' you work."

She’s the one good thing about trips to medical in the Avenger’s Tower.
Every other day, at her direct insistence, her lab is the only place in the entire wing that he’s willing to go to. It smells warm and safe, nothing like the antiseptic that makes him want to break a limb. For the first two weeks, he tries to tell her that she doesn’t have to do this. He’s been looking after the link from his arm to his brain for years. There’s never been a problem with it that he couldn’t handle, and he’ll come back if anything ever feels off. No matter how much Steve hovers, she doesn’t need to waste her time on this.
By the start of the third week, he can’t bring himself to suggest that anymore.

this canon will always be so special to me, and ill never stop building on it in my head, but i no longer feel safe or comfortable in any online space. its genuinely horrific to log on at this point, and has been for months.
im sorry if you loved it. i love it too, i always will. but i wont let posting it take away what little sense of security i have found for myself in this world. ✌️❤️
