Summary
These are all little slices of life from before, after, and during the events of The Papergirl. It's focused on Dom and Kele's relationship (obviously; it's in the title) and not always canon-compliant. They're usually just little ideas that pop up in my head, so they don't always line up with each other. None of them are really complete, but I will intermittently add to them.
I'm coming back to this to update and rearrange and stuff and I wanted to add on-- some of these suck. they do, and that's okay, because writing these in any capacity, whether they suck or not, brings me happiness. I created these characters and the lives they live and they can suck sometimes, just like our own real lives sometimes suck. -

Summary
Kele Greenwood is struggling to figure himself out in the span of his high school career. Dominic Malachi, the only out gay guy in the entire high school, becomes an unlikely friend. Coi Greenwood stands by her brother's side through it all, mostly to smack him upside the head whenever he does something stupid.
Three years, an abundance of unlikely friends, and a hot tub don't even begin to describe the amount of insanity one group of people can face. Friendships are gained, some are lost, most stay the same. Secrets are revealed, feelings are expressed, and lots of tears are shed, both of sadness and laughter. As much as high school sucks (and it really, really does), there are always bright spots.

Summary
“—okay, that’s unusual,” the first commentator’s voice is saying over the footage. “Hm. Ladies and gentlemen, it seems that, thanks to some last-minute additions to the broadcast, we’ll be able to get an audio feed straight from the arena today!”
Ilya frowns. Who the fuck was stupid enough to get mic’d for this fucking game? Some idiot rookie from Toronto, probably. They really don’t teach kids how to handle anything these days.
“That’s right!” The second announcer pipes up with an annoyingly fake cheery voice. Ilya immediately wants to send a puck straight into his windpipe. “We just got confirmation that Captain Shane Hollander himself will be wearing a microphone during tonight’s game.”
Ilya sits up and spins to face the TV screen fast enough to give a lesser man whiplash.
Shane doesn’t get injured when Ilya comes back from Russia in 2017, so Ilya follows through on his plan to end things between them. A year later, despite being miserable, he still believes he did the right thing for both of them.
Except the Voyageurs have been acting weird around Hollander lately. And wait, what do you mean he’s mic’d for this game?Bookmarked by Cora_the_Explora

Summary

This has happened before, and Ilya was there.
He is there this time as well, but on the same team as his husband. This time, everybody knows it’s the love of his life unconscious on the ice.

Summary
Shane Hollander had a plan. It was a good plan, just as every other plan he’d ever made was a good plan. Then he watched a video of a burning plane carrying the love of his life and it became the only plan he’d ever changed.

Shane goes to Tampa. The next morning, Troy Barrett receives a text from Ilya:
“Bringing boyfriend to breakfast. Tell team to be not weird.”
The Centaurs are, unsurprisingly, weird about it but become the best support system they could ask for as Shane and Ilya navigate the choice to fully begin their lives together and love each other out loud.
