Sunghoon faltered at that, and Riki wanted to take the words back. They were too obvious, and unfair. Sunghoon didn’t owe him anything.
Before he could apologize though, he felt a touch at his elbow.

Riki had always loved Sunghoon. It was a secret that everyone knew.
Sunghoon didn't love Riki. Not enough to give up the single life. But he still kissed him, and he still ran.
When Riki decides it's time to move on and stop torturing himself, Sunghoon has to do some soul-searching, going layers deep into himself to confront truths he's been too scared of admitting, or risk losing Riki forever.

Riki stumbled back against a firm chest. He whirled around, gaze hazy and anger bubbling up. “Who the fuck?” He glared, before his eyes widened and his heart stopped. He felt the nausea intensify, now for completely unrelated reasons, as he took in who stood in front of him.
He shouldn’t be in this club. He shouldn’t even be in this goddamn city.
Riki couldn’t help but think in his disbelief what a fucking cliché. Because there stood Park fucking Sunghoon, the boy who had broken his heart in pieces two years ago, glaring at Riki’s company for the night.

Sunghoon stayed crouched there, frozen. Just as his mind decided fuck it and to just get Riki’s blanket so he didn’t have to continue sleeping smelling a stupid alpha without his consent, he heard it. It was so faint he thought he was hearing things in his sleep deprived state.
Riki was purring.
Sunghoon felt like someone punched him directly in the lungs, all sleep leaving his head instantly, electricity running up his spine. It’s not like he hadn’t heard omegas purr before, in practice rooms or waiting rooms. It was normal biology. It shouldn’t have been so shocking.
But this was Riki, something alive and delicate inside of him that he only lets out when no one is watching. Sunghoon leaned in closer, just to make sure it wasn’t wishful thinking.
He hadn’t realized he had a favourite sound until now.

Summary
After an apocalyptic event, the forest blooms again and the survivors are left divided into tribes. Each year, the Great Hunt takes place in hopes to unite and maintain peace between all seven tribes. The sole purpose of this ceremony is to force mating between their people. Ten omegas from each tribe are sent as a sacrifice each year. Each omega comes out of the forest claimed by an alpha. Although all omegas come out alive, alphas are not as lucky.
