His eyes kept darting to Chad’s hand, where the stumps of his fingers twitched absently against the duvet. 'I did that,' he thought, closely followed by a montage of all the horrible things he'd do to him if he figured it out. The anxiety simmered like bile in the back of his throat.
"So," Chad said, stretching his arms behind his head, biceps straining against his tight black t-shirt. "You gotta measure me before we keep going or what? I don't want to get my hopes up for nothing."
As much as he wanted to throw up, the question was almost hysterical. He swallowed it down before he said something stupid, or bolted out the door like a hunted rabbit. "Are you serious?"
"No, I spent three grand on this room and a week of my time answering bullshit questions to fuck with you."

Summary
The second Robert says he's Mecha Man after that bar fight, he knows Flambae is going to be furious. But when the reformed villain doesn't immediately attack, Robert is forced to confront some previous assumptions he'd had. Which leads him to Flambae's doorstep hours later with an offer - he won't fight back as Flambae takes his revenge. He isn't expecting Flambae's revenge to take the form of fucking him, but...
Well. He's not dead, so it's still a success. It hurts just like he thought, but he'll do anything for his legacy - he has suffered for it since he was a child, it's nothing new. Speaking of child... maybe he should've been better about birth control and not relying on his body's malnutrition response for it.
All the while, Shroud hangs over his head like an axe, Flambae's revenge is turning into something softer than hate, Royd is struggling to get the mech suit working, and Robert is being crushed by the weight of a dead man's expectations.
Wasn't taking a desk job supposed to have him bleeding less than being in the field?

Summary
He comes back with gauze and disinfects the split skin on his knuckles. Flambae himself is hardly injured, aside from a few bruises Robert supposes he is going to wear proudly. He doesn't even sit next to him, he stands there in front of the couch, wrapping gauze around his hand with just enough care to stay on, but messy enough to show that he isn't doing this for him.
Robert sucks his lower lip between his teeth for a moment, but it's not enough to keep himself from stating what he had been thinking ever since Flambae rejoined the team. “You're still mad at me.”~Robert has an opportunity to spend some one-on-one time with Flambae. From then on, it spirals out of control.
