    A few texts and a shitty motel room later, Lestat was screaming the words from his interview back to him, asking why couldn’t he just love him, had he ever even liked him, why did Louis even let him turn him if he didn’t, crimson tears staining his cheeks as he did. That was awful. That was probably the lowest Louis had ever been.

     

    The sex that followed, however, was great. It was like the time he’d drained a man high off of morphine, only better, to the rings of Saturn and back only that didn’t even begin to cover it. There was no pain, no pain, finally. it was the first relief Louis had truly felt in years.

    It is hard to be this brave, but they are both trying to build something knew from the ashes of the old

    After Lestat and Louis' reunion, they attempt to keep in touch as "friends". Louis is struggling to comprehend a new reality where Lestat is making healthier (but not completely healthy) choices. Lestat is secretly going to therapy and actually working though his issues.

    Also, Lestat is Hozier of this universe and always sings about Louis.

    Within the week Lestat—the Lestat, a small part of Daniel can’t help but help but crow—is sitting in Daniel’s apartment, casting his unimpressed gaze over the clutter of Daniel’s human life.

    Daniel decides to seize the bull by the horns. “So, where do you want to start? Top ten grievances about the book?”

    With his eyes, Lestat manages to convey that a top one hundred would be insufficient to capture the magnitude of Daniel’s literary sins, but with his mouth he says, “I am not here to pick over what has already been said. If that is how Louis sees things, that is how he sees them.”

    Or: The vampire Lestat tells his life story to newly immortal journalist Daniel Molloy, who has a lot of inconvenient, probing questions about it.
