"And you are?" Lena says, holding her hand out to shake. Kara takes it, and puts in every effort not to crush it in her nervousness. Lena's hand is dry and cold where Kara's is uncomfortably hot.
"Kara Danvers," Kara says, putting on her best smile. "Reporter. It's great to meet you, I think we really – "
"Ah, Kara Danvers. The newest addition to the roster, and yet one who has her own private office on the 21st floor," Lena interrupts.

“Tell – tell me you love me.” She says, a surety not present before now. Something she’d only ever entertained in the sickest part of her mind, latching onto the almosts and letting them fester. But she knows that it will work. Knows how she responds to the three little words that Kara never quite says. Knows she will never be the same again and she’s counting on it. “I come harder when you lie to me.”
A slight pause. A stutter of her hips. A singular moment made up from memories of countless others, lighting up one by one in a vivid array of color where the past five months have been black and white. And Kara whispers the words in her ear like it’s the one thing she’s been waiting to say her whole life.
“I love you. Rao, I love you.”

Summary
El Mayarah. Her family’s motto. Stronger together. But how was she supposed to be stronger together when she was alone?
She was trying. Every day, she tried. She made the effort to get up, to face her life with as much grace as she could. She was one of the last survivors of her people, potentially the last, and she wouldn’t dishonor her people’s memory, her family’s memory, by giving up. She wouldn’t fail her parents, wouldn’t give up until her last promise to them was fulfilled.
Kara Zor-El arrives on an Earth where Superman doesn't exist. Without anyone to intercept her crashed pod, Kara is found and captured by the government. Twelve years later, her last promise to her family remains unfulfilled. Depressed, alone, and in hiding, she runs into a green-eyed scientist looking to redeem her own family name.

“So you'll find me?”
Kara nods cradling her jaw.
“In every other world?” Lena asks against soft lips.
“Yes, I’d reckon I’ll have to save you in every one of them.”Just an excuse for me to write Reincarnation AU with these two.
