Summary
Being forgotten is so frighteningly lonely that it makes him spiral sometimes. How can he explain that he feels like he’s in a dark tunnel and he can’t even tell which way he came in from or where the exit is.
That he longs for the feeling you can only get when someone knows you. When someone cares for you.
And on days like this, he wants to quit. On days like this, he wishes he hadn’t even made it out of the crumbling apartment and May’s arms.
OR- Post NWH but Tony Stark is alive, and he’s wondering where the photo in his kitchen came from. Naturally, against all advice, he must track down this boy.

Foster kid Peter Parker barrels around a corner with a rescued cat in his arms and a cop hot on his heels. He collides with Tony Stark and blurts, “Dad! You gotta help me!” in front of a dozen cameras.
The media eats it up, and Tony rolls with it, because why not? It's good PR. The narrative writes itself. And everyone loves a good redemption arc... All he had to do was borrow the kid, smile for the cameras, and hand him back when the buzz dies down. Easy. What could possibly go wrong?

Summary
The apartment was smaller than the word apartment deserved.
Calling it a box would have been more honest. Four walls, a ceiling low enough that Peter felt like he’d bang his head trying to stand up from unpacking, and a window that technically opened but jammed half the time. The place smelled faintly of mildew, maybe because of the carpet - or maybe because this whole building had given up on life a few decades ago and was just waiting for someone merciful to bulldoze it.
He told himself it was fine. He told himself worse things had happened. Which, technically, was true.
That didn’t make him feel any better.

Summary
Peter spins around and faces the sky. He picks up a chunk of concrete. Running and climbing towards the sound.
"You did this!"
He throws the chunk up, nearly hitting the machine.
Peter feels his arms reaching down to pick up another piece. Throwing that one too. He picks up another. And another. And another. Yelling at Iron Man. Screaming how it caused this. It hurt people. Took their lives.
Lives that he should have saved. He should have gotten here quicker. It was his responsibility to get here quicker.
Or – an AU where Iron Man is a dangerous rouge "machine" that the Avengers can't catch. So obviously the place the one and only Spider-Man in charge of taking him down.Bookmarked by Dark_Solaris57
