“B-But I paid you earlier,” Jisung stuttered, “exactly twenty thousand won, remember?”
“Yeah, so? I need sleep too.”
Jisung moved towards the bed, grabbing onto the comforter that Minho had flipped open, flipping it back until the sheets were no longer visible. The elder just stood there, a slight smile making its way onto his lips as he crossed his arms. “This is my side, you get the other. That was the agreement.”
“You want me to sleep in the same bed as you?!?” Jisung screeched, eyes blowing wide at the sudden realization.
Maybe he should’ve read the description of Minho’s Rent-a-Bed listing more carefully before accepting.

What did Minho know about him, or love, for that matter, anyway? And what right did he have to ask if Seungmin was satisfactory? It wouldn’t be his marriage. It was already hardly his family.
God damn Minho, Jisung thought, for being so cagey. Mysterious.
Unfortunately, if there was one thing he couldn’t resist, it was a mystery.

Silence falls, abrupt and complete. Even the breeze seems to hesitate. Jisung stills mid-motion, one hand caught between turning the page and abandoning it altogether.
Minho freezes, because no, that was not how this was meant to occur. He intended to be subtle. A measured declaration. Perhaps a carefully guided conversation beneath acceptable layers of plausible deniability.
Not this.
Not a raw confession tossed carelessly into the afternoon air like a man flinging himself from a cliff. Depending on how this goes, Minho might have to do just that.
