Dwight got a ding on her credit cards, and a friend says that someone who looks suspiciously like Jennifer has been seen around Boston. If it is Jennifer? Then why hadn't she come back to the Rouge? Duke and Jennifer have spent the majority of Jennifer's pregnancy staying in her best friend's, Holly's, guest house in California. Now that they're getting closer to Jennifer's due date and the possibility of going back to Haven, Holly is throwing her friends a sort of combination going away party and baby shower. But Jennifer's just not in a very "partying" mood. -

Summary
So I'm undertaking an alphabet style fic that will try to develop Duke and Jennifer's relationship. Overall, this is turning out to be anachronistic to the rest of the canon in the show. It's a bit disjointed, like most of my work that I've been posting lately, but there's a bit more focus on Jennifer herself while often within the context of her relationship with Duke. Still hope it's something you enjoy reading!

(Oh, good God. Of course something like this would happen at a party. Doesn’t stuff like this always happen at parties? People finding some spare room to hook up and probably never see each other again? See, this is why you should have stayed home.)
You’re partway through trying to figure out the subtlest way to slip out without getting caught when the lump in the bed moves, and you’re already stringing together the best apology you can manage when the blankets flip back. You’re stuttering something about how you’re leaving, you promise, you never saw anything, when a pair of dark blue eyes meets yours from across the bedroom.
You freeze, chest going tight.
“Xavier? What are you doing here?”
