The music that Angel Dust turns on fills the room, his song choice hits you with its unmistakable character. It's not the melody or the rhythm that grabs your attention - it's the words, the dirty words that reverberate through the space with an intensity that could shock even the biggest cynic.
Turning aside, you notice a sudden shadow appearing almost inaudibly at the door. It's Alastor, his trademark smile unwavering, but his eyes squint in silent appraisal. His deer ears, now tautly erect, catch every note of this controversial tune.

Alastor has his own style and this is definitely not one he would classify in his genre. That's why, when the opportunity arises, he will change the genre of music.

Because ordinary meant a pen in his hand and his head in the other, paperwork slowly worked through as time bled by. It meant periods of silence that served as a reminder as to how fleeting amity could be, the lack of noise almost taunting in his office. It meant crisp sheets and neatly-arranged pillows, not because he insisted on doing his bed every morning (although it wouldn’t be entirely out of his character to do so), but because he simply never used it. Ordinary always meant his bed felt too big, too cold, too empty when he was alone.
But never before had ordinary meant laying beside you, realising that you had fallen asleep and wondering, as he quietly admired you, what he ever did to deserve this. Ordinary never meant letting those brief touches from before become anything more, but here he was, acting on a feeling he couldn’t quite explain as he slowly shifts nearer to you and wraps an arm around your waist, careful not to wake you as he pulls you closer and letting himself, just this once, keep you close to him.

It was comforting, at least to you, that you had no real obligation to the person that you’d spoken those words to. You didn’t have time for a soulmate. After the death of your father, you and your mother were struggling to get by. You had to continue your education, get a good job, and finally relieve your mother of the panic attacks that made her ill. You had to ignore those two words, you had no other choice. Even if they changed, you had to ignore them. Your mother knew that as well as you did, and that was why she never asked why you started wearing long sleeved shirts all the time.
Unfortunately for you, long sleeved shirts wouldn’t be enough.

The little furball was cryptic at best, like he always was, and left Noctis to figure out just what the hell he was talking about. What was this about past lives? Who was this 'other half' he didn't remember but should have known? Why couldn't he just get a straight answer for once?
