Back in the church they had shown him cautious kindness the minute his change of heart had officially, unfortunately set in. While Sam was distracted and dismissive, they had made some small efforts to make him more comfortable, much to his confusion and desperate relief. They cleaned the blood off his face when he was at his worst and refused to make fun of him at any point before, during, or after.
The first time they had visited him where he was trapped in the Winchester’s “not a sex dungeon” sex dungeon, he hadn’t expected to miss them so much.
But now, trapped alone and confronted with his own deepest thoughts and fears, things he couldn’t admit to even himself in his most honest moments, he found his thoughts often turning back to them.
