Summary
10-year old Harry knows the rules of the Dursley house, and follows them to the best of his ability. Until one day, a strange man comes and tells him it's okay to break these rules. He shows him a new world, with new rules, then teaches Harry how to break those rules and create his own rules. Or, what if Severus had been the one to find Harry's living conditions and they reminded him just a little too much of his own childhood?
Harry falls into the world of Slytherin politics, and relearns what he thought life was like.

“You want me to go back, professor?”
“It’s not a matter of want, my boy. I simply believe that in returning, you may ensure that Tom is vanquished for good. But of course, if memory serves me well, as it often does, your choices so far were made for the betterment of our world. If you choose, instead, to go on, then who am I to stop you?”
“I think I’d like to… go on. See what it’s like. I can always come back, right?”
“My boy, I believe there is very little you can’t do at this point,” Dumbledore says. Then, after several beats, he asks, “Harry, what are you doing?”
Harry’s steps halt at the entrance of the train; his arms warm from the bundle shaking in his arms. He looks down at the fragment of his nemesis; repulsive and pitiful. “I don’t know. But I can’t just leave it here, professor. I can’t.”

Summary
Everything had gone to plan, Dumbledore had seen the end of the First Wizarding War. Certainly he had lost more than a few, but Harry Potter was still alive and well. He was currently tucked away in Surrey with his Muggle Family. He could contently wait for the boy to come of age now, and continue the last of the prophecy. Until an owl landed on his desk, providing him with the news he had not expected.
