Summary
After sustaining injuries during a relief mission far from Wyndham, Griffith is obliged to recuperate in the manor of a wealthy southern General. Guts has little choice but to dive headfirst along side him into a world of decadent lies, political machinations and hard, bitter truths. Bathed in the oppressive heat of their first southern summer, passions and tempers flare between them, their friendship growing into something more.
