    Summary

They met in 2016 and promised they wouldn’t just be strangers to each other. They made a plan, dropped their guard and then said goodbye. All still imprinted in the lining of their skin. A will-they-won’t-they friendship that was never just a friendship. Vi and Caitlyn spent the decade between the promise and the reunion making every possible mistake and running in the wrong direction. They arrive in 2026 with the reminder in their calendars and no idea what the other has been carrying for the last seven years or what it cost them. What it might still be worth. All they have to do is show up. Will they?
    OR
A story about two people who found each other by accident and then spent a decade failing to find each other on purpose. Two people who found each other in a stairwell between floors — between the place they'd come from and the place they were going — and have been trying to find their way back to that space ever since. It’s a journey of learning what love without conditions actually costs and having the courage to be able to accept that love. Starring our two favourite useless lesbians.

    Summary

Vi rolled her eyes as Caitlyn followed her into the bathroom, whirling on her the second the door closed.

“What the fuck is your deal? Thought it might be fun to slum it for the night with the gutter trash who rescued you out there? You’re welcome, by the way.”

“No, I–” Caitlyn made a noise of frustration, face scrunching up, and then she was really fuckin’ close.

Vi held her breath, not wanting to break the weird fucking moment.

“You’re infuriating,” Caitlyn breathed, and Vi tried - and failed - not to shiver when warm breath ghosted over her lips.

“Yeah, well–” Vi started to snark back…and then Vi’s night was officially the weirdest she’d had in a while, because Caitlyn Kiramman, conservative politician’s daughter, was kissing her like she was fucking starving and Vi was an all-you-can-eat buffet in the desert.

    Summary

When she and her sister were renaming the The Last Drop, they were six beers in.
It felt far more pretentious than she originally wanted, but something about it stuck. When all her life she's felt torn in every direction except the one she actually wanted, this little name made Vi feel warm. And important, like her dreams could mean something.

    La Descente Délicate.

The Delicate Drop. Or some version of that. Comes from an old root of Demacian that found a Zaun tongue along the way. "It's like your name," Jinx had said. Vi could only laugh, the edge of tipsy making her a little more confused.

    "What?"

"Well ya know! Like how Violet sounds all soft but really you're… well, you're a secret softy–"

    "Hey, hey, what the fuck?"

The rest of the bar howled with laughter and Vi could do nothing but groan and down another beer.

"No, but I'm serious. People will think it's some rich topside snail shit all dainty but then–BAM!—it's a firehouse."
Delicate like a bomb, they decided.
And it's all Vi can think about when she looks at Caitlyn now.

"I wanted to take you out on a date," Caitlyn finally admits. "We've both been so busy recently and I've missed you. I know we already spend all day together—" she adds before Vi can, "but it's not the same. I wanted a day for the two of us to relax. No cases, no responsibilities, just you, and me, spending time together."

Vi is grinning so hard it's starting to hurt a little.
