Summary
How things could’ve been different if Sam had never even entertained for a MOMENT going along with the Ma’lak box plan when Dean suggested it. What would have changed, and what would’ve stayed exactly the same.
After God checks out, familiar faces start appearing mysteriously at the same time Sam comes to terms with the return of his powers and a little something extra.
AKA a rewrite of the ending of s14/all of s15. Some things change, and change like crazy. Jack doesn't go anywhere near that fucking box though, and that's what's important.
Featuring Witch and Psychic Sam, utilizing plot points I wish they hadn't brushed under the rug, and fixing any plots that pissed me off.

Summary
After Charlie's death and a bad hunt Sam gives up. He makes a decision that changes everything.
~~
“Your brother has yet again done something with drastic cosmic consequences.” Sam squeezed his eyes shut, unwilling to see the hatred and disappointment on Dean’s face. “Samuel.” Death called and he couldn’t have rejected the request if he’d tried. “You would give up all that you have worked so hard to accomplish, all that you are, and live a subservient life instead?” Sam swallowed thickly, blinking rapidly as he tried to figure out how to say what he needed to say.“If it means none of my mistakes happen, all of those lives saved,” Sam couldn’t stop his eyes from darting to Dean once but was taken aback by the stricken look on his face. “Of course I would.” He turned back to Death who was gazing at him like a bug under a microscope. He guessed that’s what he really was to something as powerful as Death. The horseman nodded once as he stood.
“Very well."

As fate has it, she crosses paths with Sam once again, but the consequences are much more devastating than they were the last time.
Canon Divergence from season 8 episode 22
PS the title is based on the song that plays during ep 19 s1 -

Summary
The pencil skitters across the table, little more than an inch.
(A phantom thrill races through Sam's blood.)
“You did it!” Sam sends Jack a grin, slightly bewildered. Kid’s a fast learner. “Great job, Jack.”
Contrary to the pride Sam expects to see on Jack’s face, there is instead confusion. “That… wasn’t me.”
“What?” Sam’s gaze slides back to the pencil, the innocuous object, close enough to touch. His heart is beating in his ears, staggered, animalistic. “Then how…?”
“You didn’t tell me you had powers too!” Jack says with an excited grin, leaning forward with his elbows on the table. The Nephilim’s childish expression is floating on the edges of Sam’s vision, distorted. Everything feels far away, unreal, dimmed by the echo of pure power running through his veins.
“I don’t—shouldn’t,” he manages to stammer out. His blood is humming just like it used to, alight with the power, and Sam thinks he might throw up. “Not anymore."
Sam’s powers resurface when he tries to train Jack, and he is forced to confront a decade of shame and self-hatred. If Jack, the son of Lucifer, is good, then maybe Lucifer’s demon blood-infested vessel can be too.

Summary
"No. You're not good, dude. Seriously." He said. Leaning closer, he put his arms on the table.
"You're not you anymore. And there's no going back."
He flinched again. Lucifer dropped his body over his shoulders. The tail once again wrapped around him. It reminded him all too much of the cage.
"Oh that's right," Lucifer said "You arent you. You're mine. Just a little human- made for me. Y'know with you being my whole vessel and all." He cracked a grin that made Sam's insides churn.
"Dean, I'm fine" he forced out, ignoring the devil literally over his shoulders now.
Jack ran into the room then, followed by a giggling Charlie who bumped all the way into Dean and almost knocked him over.
"Charlie- come on- shit."
Charlie grabbed Jack's arm and pulled him along- shouting to Dean that if he wanted to catch them he would have to 'use those old man legs of his and chase them.' Dean turns to face him for a moment-
