To have been her friend but maybe that’s odd of me to say.”
“I’m sorry— that was rude of me to ask.” Cas covers her mouth, cheeks flushing. Phainon, though, laughs, and that cuts the jab of worry that had cut into her.

From the age of 11-12, both Yanqing and Yunli have been at each others metaphorical throats for the longest time. They can't stand being around one another for even a second before an argument ensues. Sure they still hang out like friends, which they aren't. Sure if one of them gets called an insult the other didn't say, they'll protect the former without hesitation...only because they have reservations to pick on each other, being sworn rivals and all.
And sure, they both are bunked into the same dorm for the coming semester in which both just suck it up and deal with it...but only because they had no other choice.
