“Uhm. Hi?” He said.
Travis stood in the doorway, soaking wet and bleeding out of the general area around his eye, as if someone had punched the pre-existing black eye. The taller boy fidgeted nervously, never bringing his eyes up from the carpeted apartment floor.
“Uh. You-.” Travis cleared his throat and sniffed. “You said that I could always come over.”
Sal remembered their encounter in the bathroom. He started putting the pieces together. Travis is at his door, hurt, it’s pouring out. He knew Travis was being beat by his dad, he kind of assumed that part. But, it has to be bad enough to where Travis got to a point to run away for a night. There was part of Sally that wanted to leave him sopping outside his door because of the things he’s said, but he knows Travis is just a scared kid and that is not the person Sally will ever be.

Summary
It has been four years since becoming a scout. Four years from Trost. And four years since Marco’s death. Somehow, everything Jean does is still influenced by him. Every titan and every Marlean dead. He kisses the blade that kills. In his right hand is where he was last able to hold Marco. The last ash he could grapple with. He’s made it a habit that he kisses that hand before battle to be a little closer to Marco.

Summary
