Summary
"And just who are you talking to, Griddle?" Curiosity colored Harrow's voice, the eyebrow she quirked as she dragged her gaze up and down Gideon's body the only sign of her amusement.
"I–" Gideon's throat itched. She cleared it and sucked in a breath. "Who do you think, Harrowhark?"
"I truly could not begin to guess, Griddle," Harrow murmured, chin dipping towards her chest. The heat in her eyes was a blistering force, raising Gideon's core temperature even as it bled into her voice. "Simply because I know you know better than to speak to me in that manner."

Summary
Every night when she sleeps, Mother Superior Shadowheart is taken back to various moments in her past as a tadpoled adventurer. The flashbacks are quickly proven to be more than dreams, as she discovers whatever she does in the past changes the events of her present.
––––––––––
Shadowheart scours the beach for the familiar beaten barrel. She confidently plucks a set of rusted lockpicks, exactly where she knew they would be.
Cypress watches her curiously. "How did you know those were there?"
"Divine intuition," she deadpans.
"Blessed by the god of happenstance?"
"What do you–oh, right. I worship Shar. You don't care."
Cypress blinks at the apathy. "I mean you're right, I don't, but...?"- Language:

Summary
The camp was silent.
No one spoke. Nothing moved. Not even the birds called from the trees.Shadowheart stood half-donned in her armour, dragged from her tent by shouts of alarm. Her mace hung loose in her grip. She stood at the edge—at the edge of a puddle of blood so thick it still hadn’t dried in the morning sun. It crept across the sand in sluggish veins, seeping into the lake until the water ran red.
She numbly watched a lute string drift there, its pale surface dulled and sticky with gore. The bard’s body lay crumpled beside Isha’s discarded hunting knife—the one thing she had carried from before the Nautiloid—its blade slick with blood. Her eyes were still wide in the scream that marked her end.
Her stomach had been torn open, stabbed until it was nothing but blood, bone, and pulp.Shadowheart supposed it had been inevitable. Isha had tried to warn them. All of them. Time and time again.
And only now, when it was far, far too late, did Shadowheart understand.
They hadn’t failed to hear her.
They had simply never listened.Series
