Summary
“You don’t know what you’re messing with, here,” Hastur hissed, his voice low. “This- this isn’t one of your human pets you can use to work things in your favor. You’ll ruin everything.” His eyes flashed dangerously. “For all of us.”
Aziraphale glanced from the child’s bruised face to the snake’s heavy breathing. “Well,” he said, gasping for air. He caught Crowley’s eye and they exchanged a knowing look. “We’ll just have to see about that.”
. . .
Crowley and Aziraphale have been grateful for the mundanity of their lives following the Apocalypse-That-Wasn't. That mundanity, however, will not last for long. The forces of Heaven and Hell are at it again. This time, though, the Ineffable-Duo have more at stake than just themselves.

Summary
In Aziraphale’s shop, there sat a book he had never read. Among Crowley’s memories, there were moments he had never joked about. In all the world, there was one story the two of them had never discussed. A story they could only hold in silence.
—“Don’t be cross, angel,” said War. “Actually, I wanted to thank you both. I was a long way from this damp island when I heard that someone had already done my work for me. Tell me, angel, are you aware of the destructive power of the force you have brought into being?”
Crowley, Aziraphale and the Wars of the Roses.

Summary
So, Gabriel's out of the picture. No matter. The Metatron can fix this. He'll just have to get creative, is all.
Some time later—never mind how much—Aziraphale is frolicking in Heaven, Crowley is suddenly Shax's new bestie, and neither of them is particularly well-equipped to stop the Second Coming. But someone has to, and if not them, who else? Jesus? Where is he, anyway?

Summary
He laid there awkwardly, half upright on his elbow and a question already forming on his lips when he felt Aziraphale’s hand come to rest against the side of his head. He was too stunned to resist the gentle pressure that guided his head down, the angle forcing him to relax his arms and lay flat against the couch as his head came to rest against the angel’s thigh.
“There now,” Aziraphale murmured softly above him, never removing his hand from Crowley’s head. “That’s better, wouldn’t you say? Actually–” The angel shifted minutely and Crowley braced his limbs to push upright-but Aziraphale hushed him gently, applying a touch more pressure against his skull. “No no, dear boy, you stay right where you are… lift your head just a touch, if you would?”
Crowley did as he was told, rolling his head upwards and resting his weight on his shoulder just long enough for Aziraphale to slide a pillow under his ear and guide him carefully back down.
He lay there for several minutes, feeling every inch of tension in his frame as he waited for it to stop, for Aziraphale to tell him to get up, to become tired of this, and of his neediness, his selfishness… but he didn’t.

Summary
You’re late back,’ Aziraphale says softly. He’s bent over an old book that seems mostly fragments of paper and leather, glueing it back together. His hands are sure, steady.
Crowley jams his fingers in his pockets and wills them not to tremble. ‘Couldn’t settle.’
Or, retirement doesn’t stop the memories and the fear.
