Summary
You're happily married to Sebastian. One day, you go to Skull Cavern to look for a frog egg for him. Unfortunately, you forgot that you left the mines on dangerous mode, and you get injured pretty badly, barely managing to make it back home. You wake up in Doctor Harvey's clinic, in a hospital bed, with Sebastian standing over you, worried sick. You're told that you passed out in pelican town before you could make it home. Everything seems fine, but you just keep getting sicker. You go to Doctor Harvey's again, and you're told that your wounds became infected, and you need plenty of rest. Sebastian cares for you, while you rest in bed. Unfortunately, your sickness lasts longer than expected, and you have to miss the feast of the winter star. Not to worry, though, because Sebastian happily takes care of you and cuddles with you, he never liked socializing anyway.

“I’m so sorry I’m late, babe.” You look up, only to find Jake Peralta walking over to you. He’s dressed rather nicely and there’s an embarrassed smile on his face. “Traffic was horrible.” His voice is a bit louder than it needs to be. You stare at him in confusion. Meanwhile, Jake leans towards you as he takes off his jacket, whispering in your ear. “You never texted me.”
“Peralta…” you break off, beginning to realize what’s happening here. Jake is saving you from any future embarrassment—diverting everyone’s attention by pretending to be your date.
