Summary
You were on an undercover mission deep within the Praedator territories. You'd been on the trail of a big underground ring that had been circulating frenzy enhancers around the city. You knew that an SSS-class Praedator was involved in the scheming, one that had been on your list of Praedators to catch for months.
You knew he would be here tonight, in this nightclub. You had disguised yourself as a waiter, a trick you had done countless times before, even though it was dangerous, you were well aware of the risks and were always willing to take them. Xavier had warned you against going tonight alone, he had said it would be too dangerous for you, made you promise you wouldn't but you knew this would be your only chance to be able to catch this Praedator so you had to try, or you'd never forgive yourself.

"Do you see that massive star right there, Xavier?" Xavier's mother pointed up at the sky. The night sky across Philos was always full of stars, but the young prince knew exactly which one his mother was pointing to.
"That one?" His hand followed his mother’s. She smiled and guided him to the exact star. It was beautiful and bright, much larger than all the stars around it.
"That right there, is Polaris. The legends say that it's the goddess herself watching over us while she rests."
"Wow" Xavier's amazement was showed across his whole face, his eyes sparkled like crystals, his mouth agape as the star was reflected back in his eyes.
"If you ever make an oath and Polaris is in the sky, the legends say that your souls will be entwined forever. That is the will of the goddess."

Something was wrong, you could feel it in the way the protofield moved around you. It was electric, it made your skin prickle with unease. Your hair was stood on end as you stared out of the window of your beautiful shared home in the N109 Zone, brooding. You had been restless and unnaturally tense for a week now. It had made your beloved partners feel restless as well. None of you were sure what was going on with you. The smell of wet concrete filled your nose as you ran through dilapidated streets. The pounding of your heart mirrored the way the rain hit the landscape. It would have usually been beautiful to you, often you found yourself sorting out examples of life finding its way. The way the plants had started to grow over and around the abandon scraps of buildings and metal would make your heart flutter. That despite everything that had happened in this disgusting and cruel world, humanity could in fact go on.
