It's easy for children to see their parents as unstoppable and fearless, perfect even. So they often times forget that their parents were once young too. That they made mistakes and had to learn, that they have been scared and helpless. That the way they raise their kids reflects what they went through in the past. So when parents, children and friends are presented with the opportunity to see the past. It's best to not waste it.

Summary

“Ao’nung.” Tsireya started to say near his ear, standing on tiptoe to make sure he was listening. Ao’nung was indeed listening her now, turning his ear to her, distracted. “I think you should go ask Neteyam for a dance.”
Tsireya then looked in front of them and Ao’nung instantly followed her gaze, fixing it where Neteyam was standing. The eldest son of the Omatikaya was grinning at the bonfire with his little sister in front of him, holding her hands in his as Neteyam swayed her arms to the rhythm of the Metkayina music.
