Summary
This fan fic is essentially an excerpt that would be inserted into the book right when Basil is leaving for Paris. Without Wilde's permission, a lot of lines were cut from his work before publication. I have read the originally unedited manuscripts for The Picture of Dorian Gray and I am using the redacted lines in this work as a way of reclaiming Wilde's original sentiments.
Story context: Basil comes to Dorian’s house to say goodbye before he goes to Paris. Basil asks to see his portrait, the best work of his life. Dorian refuses because he knows the portrait is old and ugly now. Dorian kicks Basil out of his house.
