“Thank you,” Sirius says so quietly Remus almost misses it.
“What?”
“All my songs are about you, Remus. My love for you has given me the fanbase I never thought I would have. You’ve always seen me for who I am, even when I, myself, didn’t know or tried to hide it away. I’ll always be grateful for that.”
Remus tenses up. Did Sirius just say they loved him? They said it so randomly, like it wasn’t making Remus’ heart stutter. Do they mean it romantically or is that just Remus’ wishful thinking? No, they probably just mean that Remus is a great friend. Friend. Remus doubts he’s the kind of guy someone would fall in love with; especially someone like Sirius Black.
“What did you say?” Remus asks, worried for the response he is so sure will crush his heart.
“I love you,” they pause for a moment. “I’m in love with you, Remus John Lupin and I am grateful for your existence in my life.” Sirius loves Remus. Sirius is in love with Remus.
