Summary
Quark has a competition going to see who can snag the most romantic-looking picture of Garak and Bashir together. It’s so popular that practically everyone on DS9 is getting in on the action. Bashir finds out, and convinces Garak to help him take the winning photo – cue fake-relationship flirtation to get in the mood, a late-night tailor-shop rendezvous to pick the right outfits, then the staging of a seductive, intimate moment in a quiet hallway... only to wonder if the relationship they’re portraying in their picture is exactly what they want in reality. Even now, Garak watches him with a strange, frightening insistence. Overly pointed. “Just making sure you don’t ‘blow our cover,’ as you say.”
“Wont,” Julian mutters before he takes a generous drink. He grimaces at the sour pull, the heat burn going down and settling. “I’m very skilled at keeping a secret when I want to, Elim.”
