You said nothing at first, jaw and fists clenching at the unwanted contact.
"Forgetting what?" you forced out. His caress turned harsh as he firmly gripped your face with one hand.

They would ooze rumours of both you're name, placed with the utterly specific adjectives, 'deranged', 'psychotic', and simply 'sick'. That was what you were known for, context or not. It was a simple way of living, within the red-dirt town of Sandrange, with little entertainment and a harbour of saloon-goers in need of any form of entertainment, which made you a target whether you liked it or not. Although, not unfamiliar with the wording, it's both the eyes of their burning scowls and the words that spit like fire from their tongue's that become something you can never get used to.
So, you never left home. Cacooned in your home for weeks to months on end, all to hide from the town and the prejudice they willingly held, this torturous routine had only been broken by the two knocks on my door, and the call of the Sheriff requesting to come inside.

In a war-torn universe, you find yourself a key player in a game that few are permitted to play, and you're not sure whether to be thankful or not. A story highlighting death snapping at the heels of man, unattended greed, shameless lust, and how compassion can affect even the coldest of men.

This is a personal project of mine that I started seven years ago. I'm planning on finishing this fic, just because I think about it a lot, even as a "real" adult. My goal is stronger first chapters, and reworking some of the original story for better flow and ease of reading. “Fred,” I hear one say to the other. "She needs help. Go get someone. Anyone.”
I hear punches from the floor scuffle. George puts a hand to the side of my face and looks at me with worried eyes. I start to shiver, and my breathing is uneven. He looks scared. He turns round and sends a stunning spell at him on the floor. He stills. “Fred - stop. He’s not going anywhere. But she needs help. Go. Get someone, anyone. I’ll stay with her.”
Fred takes one look at me and immediately jumps into action. He sends one last kick to the shins of the immobile boy on the floor. “Go”, George urges. Fred rushes over and out of the common room door.
