Summary
When he sets the miis loose on the island, Kaveh has to admit he wasn’t exactly sure what they would do. He was expecting some cute interactions. He was not expecting his own mii to immediately fall in love with Alhaitham’s.
The speed at which it happens is concerningly fast; one minute they’re walking home, and the next Kaveh’s mii is staring starry-eyed at the one representing Alhaitham and asking if this is love.
Kaveh gets Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, and decides to put himself and his friends (and, of course, Alhaitham) into the game as miis. His mii, of course, immediately falls in love with his roommate's, leading to awkward emotions and perhaps even more awkward indirect confessions.

When Veritas meets Aventurine of Stratagems for the first time, he's no longer a man relentlessly chasing the recognition of an Aeon, but there are still few personal relationships in his life, and fewer people still he cares to talk to on a regular basis without feeling the oppressive need to don his alabaster head or walk out of the room as soon as possible.
With cold metal pressed into his hand, he doesn't think Aventurine will be one of them. He thinks that working with the man staring up at him with a disturbing glint in his eyes as he forces Veritas to point a gun at his chest will be a trial of patience.
He is only right about one of these things.

“Do you think we can save it?” Al-Haitham asks, none the wiser. “It’s just the roof that’s gone. I would trust you to make the arrangements, senior, if I weren’t so worried you’d bankrupt me.”
Kaveh does not take the bait, does not bite back at all. Instead, he holds a hand up to an ash-covered wall. His fingers come back stained.
He wants to say yes. There’s nothing Kaveh wants more than to close his eyes to block out the burnt, blackened view of the house destined to fall. He could imagine it exactly as he left it then: sunlight streaming through the beautifully stained windows. Al-Haitham on the divan, a Kaveh-shaped spot beside him. Not that it would work, even if Kaveh never opened his eyes again. Gods, Kaveh tries, squeezing his eyes shut when the sight becomes unbearable. But the burnt smell permeates the air, inescapable, as the heavy feeling of soot clouds his lungs.
The house is unlivable.After the burning of irminsul, Al-Haitham and Kaveh find their house unliveable. Kaveh is totally normal about this. Totally.
