Summary
Billy knows what restriction feels like. He knows it intimately. The weight of responsibility and expectation bears down on him each day from the moment he wakes, a locked cage with shrinking walls and no key. To try and exist against the constant pressure is to breathe against a vice constantly squeezing his lungs. It feels tight in all the wrong ways, the sickening claustrophobia of being trapped in his own body. His own mind. For so long, Billy didn't know how to escape it. He wasn't sure if he ever could.
But Richard knows how.
With every cinch of a knot drawn taut against his skin, Richard Harkness unravels him just a little bit more. It's become a ritual of theirs—not often, not always, but there when Billy needs it most.

For Stebbins, seeing Collie Parker is a pretty damn good reason to clock into his shift.

Summary
Hank Olson was annoying. Hank Olson was a foul-mouthed asshole: an obnoxious, good-for-nothing braggart. But most importantly, Hank Olson was completely and utterly magnetic.
Stebbins shook his head, expelling the image— the one of Olson looking at him like that— straight from his mind. Focus. He just needed to focus.
“Ready?” McVries asks, pressing play on his laptop before even gathering a response. He flashes Collie a smile. “Try to keep up.”

Summary
Billy knows, before he even opens his eyes, that something is off. It's too quiet. Too bright. No phone vibrating beneath him to startle him awake. No just-risen pink light peeking through the blinds. Only yellow sun rays and a warm freckled arm thrown haphazardly around his stomach.
He's woken up late.
(Or: Billy and Ray start their morning a little later than usual)

Summary
All this happened, more or less. The first walk and the last walk, anyway, are pretty much true. Billy really was shot that fifth night, out on the bridge. The last night, too he really did manage to walk away. And he really was the rabbit, all mechanical workings and inhuman desires, right up until all those moments when he learned he wasn’t.

Billy Stebbins has come stuck in time.~~~~~~~~~
Putting Billy in the blender and not letting him out until he learns the power of friendship (and that he is deserving of that friendship)
