Summary
Late at night, Vox returns from a meeting to find Alastor asleep in his chair. Again. Whenever Alastor is left alone, he sleeps. In an attempt to find out why his captive has been so exhausted as of late, Vox makes the mistake of falling in love with him all over again.
Early in the morning, Alastor wakes up somewhere he didn’t fall asleep, freed from his restraints. Left alone with breakfast, a long letter from Vox and the offer of a deal, he takes some time to reflect on his current state.

“A shark,” the TV buzzed out, but there was a wavy smile on his screen. “You’re a shark like me.”
Valentino titled his head at the TV demon – a what? A shark?
Sharks were NOT sexy.

“Where is he? I got a whole stack of contracts for him to sign.” Ethan gestured pointedly with said stack of contracts threatening to overflow in his arms.
“He’s on his honeymoon.” The papers in his arms very nearly dropped to the floor, but he managed to scramble them back up before he made a mess. But he did not manage to catch his jaw.
“Honeymoon?!”
Vox was, as mentioned, on his honeymoon. He was also in goddamn heaven.
Not literally, no this was way, way better than whatever kinda virtuous shit they had going up there.

Vox, who he always thought to be an alpha, was in heat. The discovery surprised him, but more than that, the after effects of their encounter messed up in a part of Alastor that rarely showed up: Vox's heat pheromones put him in rut for the first time in ages. Now, confused and stressed, Alastor sees no alternative but to go after his chatty picture box, to fix or end things, once and for all.

This is an insane, suicidal ‘I-don’t-care-what-happens,' 'I’m-a-god-and-this-is-my-destiny’ breakdown. So when Vox acts like it never happened, Velvette and Valentino realize he may need more help than he's letting on.
