With no prior coordination, it turned out that everyone's band name suggestions were painfully pretentious. A little on the nose, if Gerry was being honest. Jane had presented a page of ideas, written in chicken scrawled ballpoint. Amongst the legible ones were Melpomene, Parádoxos and Yersinia. Oliver, glancing over the paper, suggested Nostradamus. Gerry, aiming to be less predictable, had offered Glacáin and that had somehow ended up sticking.

Summary
The walls around them hummed as she stared at the robot, the floor buzzing with what to Jonny sounded like anticipation but to Ivy seemed more like hesitance. Nastya stared into the crate, mumbling to herself and listening to the sounds of the ship as she and Aurora spoke. She reached out and touched the robot’s hair gingerly, gaze drifting to the screen that stretched out before them. “Turn that on.”

Carmilla came to him once, an ecstatic smile on her face (it was almost as bad as the thoughtful frown she had every time she shot him in the head to see what would stick, Jonny thought with a grimace) and said that there were new horizons afoot. Almost that phrasing exactly, “a new chapter” or something equally as philosophical.

With practiced ease Artemy cuts the ventricles free and lifts the heart from its cage. Still warm, he holds the prize out and for a moment he can pretend the pounding in his chest is coming from the organ he gingerly handles.
Slowly, Dankovsky reaches out to take it, eyes confused, evidently feeling the tension in the air. When the heart is held safely in his hands, Artemy squeezes his own eyes shut and for one moment lets himself wish.
He lurches forward and stands back up. Then he addresses the worms behind them: “Tell everyone it is done.”
