Summary
Francis Midford has sent a letter to the phantomhive estate, requesting to speak with, of all people, the butler.
There are questions which have remained unanswered for three years, lingering in the back of her mind, but she knows that asking her nephew directly would not end well. So, for their relationship's sake, as well as the young earls stability, she plans to go through an indirect, more neutral, individual. However, Sebastian ends up not being so keen on providing the answers that she's looking for either.

The demon is silent for a moment, his eyes contemplating something as he looks at Ciel. He looks almost wrong-footed, as if he’s unsure how to proceed.
Now that Ciel thinks about it, he has been going about this almost too confidently. He’s been taking all of this in stride, which is a far cry from how he acted last time.
But that’s only because he’s been through all of this before. This is only a dream.
No, perhaps Ciel should be honest with himself. If this were all really a dream, it would’ve ended by now. While he’s had numerous nightmares about this night in particular, they never last this long.
But the alternative is ridiculous. Could he really be going through all of this again? The very idea is just… unheard of.
Regardless, if he really is going through all of this again, then he needs to keep going.

Truly the only reason that Sirius hadn't lost all hope or faith in God was because of Ciel. A shame that all it took for Sirius to fully lose those was Ciel getting sick from the conditions they were kept in.. Sirius would do ANYTHING to save Ciel.
Aka the manga broke me so I made a fic where R!Ciel is alive and has a healthy relationship with his brother. Also O!Ciel still sells his soul and (sort of?) takes R!Ciel's place. R!Ciel is fine with it tho. (Don't ask why this is named split I have no clue I didn't have any name ideas so I put the first thing that came to mind)

He’d become familiar with the implement during his brief time at Weston, and it seemed that each teacher owned the same one: a strip of worn brown leather long enough to hit both palms simultaneously if the hands were pressed together. Ciel imagined they were among the first furnishings when the school was built.

Ciel completes his revenge shortly after turning 14. At the very last minute Sebastian realizes that consuming Ciel's soul will cost him more than he stands to gain. No one should enter a business agreement that doesn't work in their favor, after all.
