Shane doesn’t realise it’s a thing until J.J. sends lmao did you guys see this shit?? into the Metro’s group chat with a link to an article.
It is SO on between Hollywood and Hockey atm, Celebrity Insider says. Gia de Soto, lauded editorial icon, revealed a potential love match with this buzzer beater post on Instagram last week—
Shane’s stomach finds his shoes. Or maybe it’s been there since he read the hyperlink, and he's just now realising. His hands are sweating. He’s being stupid. He hasn’t been thinking about Rozanov.

Summary
Shane turned around, and noticed a few things. One was that he was in a tiny cleaning cupboard. The other was that he wasn’t alone - instead, he was joined by Ilya Rozanov, and a 7 foot tall magical bear standing menacingly in the corner of the room. Although, he’s not really sure there’s a way for a giant magical bear to stand in a corner and not look menacing.
”Roz?”
Before he could say anything else, the bear and the lynx rushed from the room, slamming the door behind them with a click.
“… Did they lock the door?”

What if hockey mascots were magical, and far too invested in Shane Hollander’s love life?

I can’t comment anymore, but bookmarking this so I can still say this is so good (and so fun !) - I love the idea of mascots as those mythological (which includes the horny part of the myths) being.
Thank you, can’t wait for chapter 2 ! -

Summary
All the fans ever see of Shane is three twenty minute periods summing up the entirety of over twenty years of work. If he loses, when he loses, he will be the Montreal captain that lost to Boston in the semi finals. It won't matter that he was also the captain for back to back cup runs. And, if another twenty years passes and he and Ilya watch their jerseys get vaulted into the rafters as two people who are together instead of just standing side by side, there will always be at least one fan who will wonder if Shane let Ilya win.
Shane wants Ilya to win and he wants to beat him just as badly, and both truths are well worn stones in each of his pockets. Balanced. Shane has a feeling like dread and certainty and relief all together that he will not win the cup this year; he hopes he can still keep Ilya afterward.

I can’t seem to comment on things anymore, so I’ll just try and bookmark this instead.
The dialogue between Shane and Jade rings so true - I also love the way you wrote this confrontation, the way Shane and Ilya think and interact together.
As always, thank you, I really love this <3 -

Summary
“Ilya, what are we gonna do?” Shane says.
Ilya finishes whatever he has been doing on his phone, and tosses it gently to the bed beside him. He crosses the room to Shane, stands in front of him, squeezes into his shoulders with his big hands, rubbing them like he means to warm them up.
“Looks like we will have a little vacation,” he says, with a big obnoxious grin.
Boston and Montreal are sent to Paris to play against each other in an exhibition series in January 2017. Ilya and Shane decide to stay in Paris for one more night. Just one more night, so they can talk. Maybe finally understand each other.
They aren't expecting a volcano to erupt in Iceland and close all the airspace in Europe, leaving them stranded there. Together.

Summary
Maybe transferring to Boston was a mistake. This day just keeps getting worse, but Shane refuses to let traffic be the thing that tips him over the edge. That is until he stops next to that fucker at the light.
