Summary
Nat spent a good part of her life living with violent people, violence was part of her blood, especially with alphas, everything she least expected was softness and kindness. So she always believed that she would never be stable with anyone, be it beta, omega or alpha, because even kindness had a price, and she couldn't easily pay it without bleeding in the end.
So why now did she feel uncomfortable with her girlfriend?
The one who was her former socker captain, who had a late introduction after an outbreak of traitorous anger, and who was considered as docile as a cat in the sun, being almost an example alpha who would be the dream of any romance, a sweet perfect that everyone would like to steal. But the lack of a harsh reaction bothered Nat, especially because Jackie always seemed so indifferent to being jealous of her, as if it were nothing.

Summary
Nat takes a chance to look around again, distracted by the thought of the missing Spider-woman in the space. Did she just up and leave while Nat’s suspended up here and, ugh, technically helpless?
Nothing looks remarkably red and blue from where she hangs, and Nat’s about to accept her fate now—dead at eighteen, Rutgers freshman, soccer playing time of zero—when she feels someone else’s touch wrap around her limbs, and thank God it’s not another slimy tentacle.
Nat starts seeing New Jersey's Spider-woman a little too many more times than she'd like.
