Summary
One year after Jack became God and saved Castiel from the Empty, Dean is happily settling into his new life as a retired hunter. He still gets to scratch that old itch by helping Sam and Castiel be "New Bobby," but now he also has the time and security for all the things he never realized he needed before, like therapy and self-care. Things are going great for his family too: Sam and Eileen are engaged and expecting a baby, Castiel has his angel mojo with the added bonus of being able to enjoy sleep and food, and Jack visits the bunker at least once a week to spend time with his dads.
Dean never dared to dream of having such a happy, peaceful life, but there's still something missing: he wants to marry his best friend and the love of his life, Castiel. Of course, before that can happen, he needs to propose.
Can he find the courage to be open and honest with Castiel about his feelings like he's longed to for years, or will he chicken out once again and let Castiel do all the talking?

After he fights through hordes of demons to find Dean, Castiel discovers that they have an unexpected and unusual connection: Castiel can see some of Dean's memories, and through those memories Castiel comes to remember what Heaven forced him to forget.

Summary
This is the first piece involving smut I have ever posted and my first fanfiction work in at least five years. Destiel gave me the courage and the inspiration to write again, and I am very excited to share my work with all of you. Fanfiction is a great opportunity for me to practice writing and find my style/voice, so any feedback you may have to offer is greatly appreciated.
The story begins with Dean Winchester relaxing alone in the middle of a starlit field. There's beer, music, and Baby, but there's still something missing, and he calls out to Castiel on a whim.

Summary
Dean stands abruptly, and beelines for the door. He doesn’t give a shit if it’s raining or not, he needs out.
He shoulders past Cas but only makes it two steps before a hand grabs his wrist, snatching him back. Cas’ eyes are alight with the blue glow Dean’s only ever seen right before he smites something into the next century.
Dean finally pushed too hard, asked for too much.
He swallows thickly, waiting for the wrath of god to come down on him in this rickety motel room. But there's no bolt of grace, no divine intervention. Instead, Cas stops his heart a different way, crowding into his space and crushing their lips together.

Original prompt: So TFW are going to a bar after a successful hunt and Dean thinks it’s time for another one night stand (because the one he really wants clearly doesn’t want him back and is his best friend) so he flirts with a woman and leaves Sam and Cas alone at the bar. But after a while he looks over and sees that Sam is gone (flirting on his own) and beside Cas sits a man that is too close for his liking but he tries to ignore it until he can’t because the man is still sitting beside Cas and Cas is still talking to him and is that a smile??!!! He’s laughing!!! When was the last time Dean could make Cas laugh??!!! And what is even so fucking funny??? While Dean is watching his best friend (and the one he really wants) getting picked up and not noticing the girl he talked to gone, Cas enjoys the attention he’s getting from this handsome man and when Dean can flirt and fuck with others why can’t he?
