"You call that a fucking bird?!" Tommy nearly shrieked at the sight of the...creature...in Techno's arms.
That's no bird, that's not a fucking bird if Tommy's ever seen one. His wrists and ankles taped up to prevent him from swiping at his rescuers, the creature glared weakly at Tommy with icy blue eyes. Glazed in pain and confusion and fear.
That's NOT a fucking bird!When strange things start to happen at the ranger station, people going missing or suddenly appearing, the crew realise that there are things in the desert....terrible things.

Summary
Tommy was handed a small flyer in printed in black and white, with the words “POETRY NIGHT - OPEN MIC” splayed across the front in bubbled font. He fumbled with his binder as he took it, eyes wide as he said, “are you sure? I mean, I love poetry and all, but I don’t think-I’m not sure—what if I can’t write poetry?”
Mr. Sam’s dark eyes softened, and he reached out to place a hand on Tommy’s shoulder, squeezing it gently. “Everyone has to start somewhere; every poet, from me to Rudy Francisco, started off without knowing a clue about what we were doing. Tommy, it’s not about if you can or cannot write poetry, it’s about if you want to.”

Summary
Wilbur says nothing, and Tommy is too afraid to look at him.
"Fucking say something!" Dream yells and it echoes out, desperately reaching for a reaction, a crazed grasping for anything at all to disrupt the deathly silence of all who stood mortified nearby. A vision of a man whose sanity has long since dissipated.
He breathes out shakily, pleads, and demands all at once.
"Say. Something.""You piece of absolute shit.”
Tommy, stunned, suddenly tilts his head up at a
seething Wilbur. The feathers of his wings bristle at the ferocious, burning hatred held in his glowing, yellow eyes. All of it directed at Dream, whose hopeful expression dies so very quickly.OR, Tommy Innit is forced to leave his old school due to the problems his hybrid traits had caused, and his life forever changes.

Summary
... Like a parent torn from their child.
Most people know not to mess with humans. Unfortunately, there are a few brave or stupid people that ignore common sense and mess with them anyway. Phil and Wilbur get swept up in this nonsense, then have to navigate the fallout without getting attached to the humans they encounter (They fail, spectacularly, but at least they tried).

“Something has been stolen from us,” Thanatos said, his wings puffing up as he spoke. “Something that is very important to us. And we are fairly certain that the person who stole this thing of ours is in this very crowd.”
Dream tensed beside Tommy as the crowd broke out into murmurs. Eyes were darting towards the different heroes in the crowd, the benefactors no doubt assuming that the culprit had to be a hero.
“Like we said, we haven’t crashed your party to cause trouble. But we want this thing returned to us, and we won’t hesitate to take extreme measures to get what we want.”
or, Tommy was a lot of things: a newly debuted hero sidekick, an amnesiac, and a former kidnapping victim of the Syndicate.
Tommy didn't actually remember that last one though. That was just what Dream told him.
Only weeks after his hero debut, the Syndicate announces they are searching for something, and Tommy knows it has to be him. The scariest part? If they find him, Tommy will have no clue what to expect, because the Syndicate might know him, but he has no memories of them.
So he can't let them find him. No matter what.
Of course they end up finding him anyway.
