Summary
Waking up from a strange lucid dream of his river-dwelling otter sweetheart from the past, Rocket—now the new leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy, faces challenges even his cybernetically enhanced brain struggles to solve. Forming a team, raising a child, and acting as a mentor are few of the responsibilities his past self never imagined, yet here he is, doing exactly that.
After capturing a bounty worth a hefty sum of units, the Guardians return to their ship only to find a crucial part has been stolen, leaving them stranded on the planet. Following leads, Rocket tracks the thieves, only to walk right into their ambush.
Why are they after him? What connection do they have to his past? And why does one of them look so much like the figure from his weird, prophetic dream?
