How do you respond to grief? What is your immediate response to tragedy? What about an emergency? Fight? Flight? Freeze? They say there is no wrong way to respond, but it often feels like there is. Because, when it's your own tragedy, things are real. it's no longer hypothetical. People respond in imperfect ways and spend the rest of their life wishing they did things differently.
How would someone respond to your tragedy? Would they let you down? Could they let you down? Or would you love them no matter what, even as you died. Would it matter that you loved them? Wouldn't they still blame themselves? Afterall, you would. Wouldn't you?

The first day in North Carolina, fresh off the plane and into the freezing winter weather, Karl got Sapnap McDonalds as he complained about the cold.
On the eighth day, a snowstorm hit the town.--
Karl glanced at him momentarily, and they made eye contact, before Karl’s eyes focused back on the road.
It dawned on Sapnap, right then, that he was there, in North Carolina, with Karl Jacobs, for an entire week. Seven days (eight if you counted that day) of uninterrupted time with Karl, and Karl alone. No leaving a call, no Quackity randomly joining to scream at them about something or other, no disconnections due to bad wifi or service. No escape.

Summary
Wasting away in this cage encased in lava slowly has Dream losing his mind. He's lost his friends, those he considers family, and seemingly no one has decided to visit him other than some annoying, British brat. After a small episode that led to Dream lashing out in violence and frustration, Sam decided that it would be beneficial to assign Dream a guard to make sure he stays at least somewhat sane. With the introduction of this new guard, Dream is prepared for the worst, but what he's met with is a young, cute man with freckles that resemble constellations. George, a name that is somehow fitting for such a gentle-looking character, and for the first time, Dream finds himself enchanted.
