Summary
This story begins when a transfer student, Megumi Fushiguro, moves to a small town in the midwest. Completely new to the school, he doesn’t know anyone. Growing up alone with his father, he came from a broken household. His father, Toji, was rarely present. Navigating the struggles of being in a new environment was hard, but crossing paths with the senior, Yuji Itadori, began to make it a lot easier.

Satoru can't stand the cycle of over achieving and burning out. His one saving grace is the 24-hour shop down the road. Every night, he finds himself making the trip from his apartment into the noisy city just to break from his mundane work. Over time, however, he begins to realize that maybe there's more to his midnight outings than just hunger-fueled desperation.

Enter Loid Forger— a father to one completely normal child, in a completely unarranged marriage with completely heterosexual feelings. Nothing could ever disturb their mundane and quiet life. Certainly not one brother-in-law with a healthy dose of adoration for his sister. It definitely doesn't help that Loid clearly finds him unattractive and undoubtedly uninteresting. This evening as they stay fully sober will clearly hold no chaos whatsoever.

The silence that follows is almost unbearable, like a physical weight.
The host swallows audibly. "So... what do we do?" His voice barely registers on the microphone attached to his suit.
"There's nothing we can do."
