Summary
Stiles sobbed against the wild forest floor. The earth, rich and moist, would make his bed tonight. He would not be returning. Let the wolves take him. Let the night cover him from unwanted eyes.
“Please,” Stiles begged. “Please…”
Gerard was getting desperate. The killings put him on edge and on wine. If not for Chris’ whining, Stiles was sure he would have had Stiles right there on the dinner table.
Stiles folded his hands over his stomach, feeling the man’s lingering touch. No river was able to wash it away.
Stiles was blessed. His womb was a sacred, precious thing, and it was not meant for a man like Gerard. Elders promised him love and fertility, said they saw loving hands holding his big belly and lips upon his skin. They said the gods would send many children his way.
It felt so wrong to not want them now.

Summary
There was no physical equivalent to what it felt like they did, so intimate it was. It was seeing each other naked, it was deep make-outs, it was dry-humping, and it was sex, but it was none of it. Perhaps, if someone opened their chest cavities, took their hearts and squished them together, that’s what it would feel like — feeling their valves open and close, the blood pump, the muscles contract, and one heartbeat pulse right into the other.
Derek offered his hand. “Let me show you one more time.”
“Show me what?”
“What would it feel like to have an alpha.”
Warmth burst in Stiles’ tight chest. His stomach swooped. His spark trembled in anticipation, reaching out, striving to taste that power again. Going red under the constant gaze of those hazel eyes, Stiles put his hand in Derek’s. He couldn’t help but give a small inhale at their sparks meeting once more.
Heat. Weight and weightlessness. Tight embrace and high, impenetrable walls. Power. Safety.

Summary
Stiles' gaze fell on the ads and random bits of paper stuck to the street pole. He ripped the offending advertisement off and was about to throw it out when his eyes caught a familiar face.
Closely shorn head. Big, doe eyes, an impish smile, and his mother’s nose.
Stiles stared at himself, black and white and frozen above giant letters, which spelled a bold “MISSING”.

Summary
The only consolation was the wolf’s softness toward him. Alpha Hale could have taken him right on this very table in front of everyone and be in his full right to do so, but instead it was just that — his soothing palm on Stiles’ knee, his thumb stroking back and forth, his breath upon Stiles’ ear.
Would he be gentle?
Stiles glanced at him from the corner of his eyes. A scary thought had taken over his mind. Just one little word.
Perhaps.

Summary
Stiles could not be in love with him. It was just lust, wasn’t it? Stupid, teenage—
Derek growled, clenching his eyes shut.
Lust wouldn’t survive years. Not even with someone as stubborn and hyperfixated as Stiles. So what if he was in love? The very thought of it sparked elation inside Derek’s chest. He stifled it in an instant. His throat closed up, his chest burned.
Even if Stiles was in love… he would never need Derek the way Derek needed him.
Derek’s love was a scary, monstrous thing. It loomed over him, a beast of its own mind, heavy and thick. He couldn’t let it hit Stiles. It would flatten that human into nothing.

Summary
You've seen it. A fic formatted like a classified document. A chapter that looks like a real social media feed. An interactive game, somehow, inside an AO3 work. You clicked the kudos button. You thought: how.
This is the tutorial that answers that.
A beginner-friendly guide to HTML and CSS on AO3 — no prior coding experience required. By the end of this series, you'll know enough to write formatted fics, build your own workskins, style your entire AO3 interface, and maybe make something that makes other people stop and think how.

Summary
There are some great quick-and-dirty guides to HTML on A03. This is not one of them - it is a comprehensive guide
It's now 2025, a decade later. A03 supports some new HTML and and we're all walking around reading fic on supercomputers that fit in a jean pocket. It was time to update.
The previous three chapters have been divided into smaller concepts. Each tag continues to have - at a minimum - a link to the w3schools page about it (so you can learn more), a code example, and the result of the code example. Most tags have their attributes, things like [src] or [title], listed and examples of how using the attributes modify the tags.
There's a chapter on Bad Ideas, including how some of the archive's default CSS is available to you to format your work (users can't turn that off by hiding a workskin!)
Oh. And I added a bunny army. You could learn how to add one too.
